Dear Coach,
Can you spare a few hours a week over the next several weeks to make an eternal difference in the life of a child? There is something special about Upward Basketball. It is an incredible tool that God planned a long time ago to help you share the incredible good news of Jesus Christ with a child and their family.
We are looking for Christian men and woman to team up with us in this fantastic ministry. Basketball knowledge is a plus but not a must. The Upward program provides excellent training and we have experienced coaches who are willing to teach. What is a MUST is the desire to introduce young people and their families to Jesus Christ.
You will be responsible for attending a coaches meeting, one practice per week (1 hour or 1 1/2 hour depending on the grade level you coach), one game on Saturday, and the Awards Night. At the practices you will be responsible for teaching fundamental basketball skills appropriate for the age group you are coaching and leading the team in a 10 minute devotional which is provided in the coaches book.. A complete list of requirements / expectations is included with the coaches application form. Please take a moment to look over them.
